Scouting Root Beer Float Days at Cub Foods

A cool treat for a great cause!
Visit your local Cub Foods store the weekend of July 16 – 18 to help support disadvantaged Scouts. Scouting youth members and adult leaders will be offering Root Beer Floats for $1.00 with all proceeds going to the camp and program scholarship fund. Root Beer Floats will be offered at all 50 metropolitan Area Cub Foods Stores from 2:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, July 16 and from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday July 17 and 18. This event is a joint effort between Cub Foods and the two Boy Scout councils serving the greater Twin cities Area - Indianhead Council in St. Paul and Viking Council in Minneapolis. Annually Indianhead Council awards more than $50,000 in scholarships to ensure that all participants can receive a full Scouting experience. Xia Yang, Director of Indianhead Council’s outreach efforts, states: “We match these camp scholarship funds with those that the youth members and their Scouting groups raise themselves; this gives members increased program opportunities while teaching responsibility. Root Beer Float Days at Cub Foods reflects the Scouting tradition “to help other people at all times…” by members and leaders volunteering their time to support their fellow Scouts.” Come out to Cub Foods and enjoy a cool treat for a great cause!
