Full Description:
Give your son “more than he can imagine” – through Cub Scouts. The Northern Star Council invites boys in grades 1 through 5 to join Cub Scout programs in the Woodbury area. Boys can register at a neighborhood Join Scouting Night location when accompanied by an adult.
Scouting is fun with a purpose. Cub Scouts get the chance to explore a variety of new interests and activities with other boys at every age level. Participation helps Cubs appreciate a wider world, uncover their hidden talents, all while developing a sense of confidence, teamwork, responsibility and a spirit of service. Boys in 1st through 5th grade are eligible and can start at any level.
Cub Scouts meet weekly in small groups (dens) and monthly with the entire group (pack) to share experiences, activities and recognition. Research has shown that Scouting helps develop an increased willingness to serve others, to be a team member, to carry out responsibilities, and to get along with others. It also helps to strengthen family and community relationships, build friendships and identity areas of interest.
Families who are unable to attend a sign-up night in their neighborhood should call Sara Carroll at 651-254-9118 to obtain registration information. Additional information on area Cub Packs, including Join Scouting Night times and locations, can be found by visiting www.joincubs.com and entering your zip code.
Northern Star Council serves local youth, families, and neighborhoods with the help of organizations and businesses within the community and many volunteers. To learn more about the Council and its programs visit the council’s Web site at www.northernstarbsa.org or call the service center numbers listed above.
